Slavery and Regaining Dignity.

Please have a look at this short video caption by Ali Bullivent on her inspired campaign to bring awareness and action to regain Dignity for women children and men who are in modern day slavery.

As a personal counsellor I often listen to women and men who experience violence and a mental, physical and spiritual slavery. So I recommend we all do our part to raise our awareness and practical help too end sexual and other forms of modern day slavery!

The Whale

If you read the front page story of the San Francisco Chronicle, you would have read about a female humpback whale who had become entangled in a spider web of crab trap and lines. She was weighted down by hundreds of pounds of traps that caused her to struggle to stay afloat. She also had hundreds of yards of line wrapped around her body, her tail, her torso, a line tugging in her mouth.

A fisherman spotted her just east of the Farallone Islands (outside the Golden Gate) and radioed an environmental group for help. Within a few hours, the rescue team arrived and determined that she was so badly off that the only way to save her was to dive in and untangle her a very dangerous proposition. One slap of the tail could kill a rescuer.

They worked for hours with curved knives and eventually freed her. When she was free, the divers say she swam in what seemed like joyous circles. She then came back to each and every diver, one at a time, and nudged them, pushed gently around-she thanked them. Some said it was the most incredibly beautiful experience of their lives.

The guy who cut the rope out of her mouth says her eye was following him the whole time, and he will never be the same.

Humor

Good for a laugh

1. He called everyone brother.
2. He liked Gospel
3. He couldn't get a fair trial.

But then there are three equally good arguments that Jesus was Jewish:

1. He went into his father's business.
2. He lived at home until he was 33.
3. He was sure his mother was a virgin and his mother was sure he was God.

Still there are three 3 arguments that Jesus was Italian:

1. He talked with his hands.
2. He had wine with his meals.
3. He used a lot of olive oil.

Then there are three quite good arguments that Jesus was a Californian:

1. He didn't cut his hair.
2. He walked around barefoot all the time.
3. He started a new religion.

However, there are three reasonably valid arguments that Jesus was an American Indian:

1. He was at peace with nature.
2. He ate a lot of fish.
3. He kept talking about the Great Spirit.

Yet there are probably three plausible arguments that Jesus was Irish:

1. He never got married.
2. He was always telling stories
3. He loved green pastures

But the most compelling evidence of all - three proofs that Jesus was a WOMAN:

1. He fed a crowd at a moment's notice when there was no food.
2. He kept trying to get a message across to a bunch of men who just didn't get it.
3. Even when he was dead, he had to get up because there was work to do.
