Often people will ring me and tell me they're feeling suicidal or so full of panic. At this point I just listen and I hear the small inner child wanting such love and understanding. This is not to patronise yet synchronise with those deep self- hating thoughts that we can all have sometime in our life.

Once heard it is amazing how a gentle suggestion of going for a walk and touching beauty in a tree or feeling the miracle of sun, river and animal life feeds the soul. Then the person gently saying, into a mirror or just passing the thought "I love you," repeated many times, this harnesses such inner clarity and healing energy.

So often in our past, as children, we wanted to be told in word and body language, "I love you" yet due to the limitations of parents or their substitutes, they could not really say it and mean it. So often when someone dies I hear a statement "I wish I told him or her I loved them."

The greatest gift of inner compassion we can give ourselves is to love the miracle of life including our own and then a whole new energy of thought, vision and inner healing begins to talk and walk gently through the mind, body and soul. This then radiates to family, friends, community and the world.

A Lesson from my Crackpot Friend

You will receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it  will be yours for the entire period this time around.

You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full time information school called Life. Each day in this school you will have the opportunity to learn lessons. You may like the lessons or think them irrelevant or stupid.

There are no mistakes, only lessons. The "failed" experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiment that "works."

A lesson is repeated until learned. It will be presented in various forms until you have learned it. Then you can go on to the next lesson.

Learning lessons DOES NOT END.

"There" is no better than "here." When your "there" has become "here," you will simply obtain another "there" that will, again, look better than "here."

Others are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something that you love or hate in yourself.

What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice IS yours.

Your answers lie WITHIN YOU. The answers to life's questions lie INSIDE YOU. All you need to do is listen, look and trust.

You WILL forget this!

Rare Books

A collector of rare books ran into an acquaintance who told him he had just thrown away an old Bible that he found in a dusty, old box. He happened to mention that Guten-somebody- or-other had printed it.

"Not Gutenberg?" gasped the collector.

"Yes, that was it!"

"You idiot! You've thrown away one of the first books ever printed. A copy recently sold at auction for half a million dollars!"

"Oh, I don't think this book would have been worth anything close to that much," replied the man. "It was scribbled all over in the margins by some clown named Martin Luther."

 

Baseball Feat

There was a knock at the door. It was a small boy, about six years old. Something of his had found its way into my garage, he said, and he wanted it back.

Upon opening the garage door, I noticed two additions: a baseball and a broken window sporting a baseball-sized hole. "How do you suppose this ball got in here?" I asked the boy.

Taking one look at the ball, one look at the window, and one look at me, the boy exclaimed, "Wow! I must have thrown it right through that hole!"
